Plain and simple, these bulbs are exactly what I need and like in a bulb. Perfect for the outside acsent lighting.Darius B.Bought to replace standard 3-way bulb in hanging lamp. Was looking forward to having not only less expensive power useage but also a bit brighter light. This lamp was installed hard wired years before we bought the house. And it works great with anyway standard bulbs. I then tried it in a lamp we have in the living room as a rarely used lamp but it's a 3-way. NO DID NOT WORK. WHAT? That lamp is a very expensive lamp. Ok I had a matching pair of really older brass lamps I had basically rescued by repainting with metalic paint and buying new lamp shades. They too are 3-way but one is used by husband but the other on my side of a couch and next to my chair is rarely used. BUT they work with those lamps. So I give the lights 2 stars. They should without these issues work. If a standard 3-way bulb works then these which are sold as replacement LED bulbs should too. The problem is the base of these LED's do not always contact properly and in the case of the hanging lamp the part just above the metal screw in base is a tad too thick creating the jam. We studied the lamp carefully to see if we could replace the bulb outlet but not possible the way it's made. And I searched for an updated new 3-way light fixture and again did not find anything that would fit. This lamp is inside an alcove above a counter that in my case has a much used Carl Paper cutter and a paper binder punch machine. I print a lot of graphic and photos and this is my go to work center. The light is very very very important. My eyes aren't what they were years ago and I depend on good light. Though you would think I would usually select the highest out put on the 3-way options it usually is the lower or the second. I seem to get better depth when folding paper and sometimes lining up media to cut under the hold down cut aligner. So I selected carefully I thought when ordering a pair of these and these should listed with an E26 Base fit ALL TRUE E26 sockets and work fine. The over had did turn on the medium light but not the lower and not the highest. I decided to put in the matching pair of older lamps rather than return. Our local selection is limited with one Ace store and most times it doesn't carry a lot of options like LED 3-way bulbs. But I'll see if on line allows me to order and pick up at store so I can return if the next one fails too. We tried about 3 years ago and that failed too but we figured by now they had improved this problem and guess not. Also remember if you use a remote adaptor with any of these 3-way bulbs you can not get 3 way selection. You probably can select one light setting among the three settings then turn off by the remote and then it should as in SHOULD be what comes back to when remote turns it on in the future until you select by the lamp a different option setting. I say should because some of these remotes fail too. We have a great set right now where we have 3 lamps on 3 levels of our home and 5 remotes that operate them from anywhere in the house. Individuals turn on and as do all at once or having a master also allows us from say third floor bedroom to turn off all possible lights left on. That set can use up to 5 lamps but we really just need the 3. Only one time did it loose a AC outlet lamp and we re-configured it and it's stayed ever since more than 4 years going now. Anyway we'd use this bulb in the one 3-way lamp we have on it but we really it's like waisting a 3-way which is more expensive by far than the regular LED bulbs. Anyway to nearest main shopping like wally world or hardware stores it's 100 miles so 200 miles round trip to just shop so we really rely on Amazon and on line shopping. There used to be a few small shopping stores like Pamida when we moved here 20 yeasr ago but they closed years ago as the lumber industry closed it's doors and population moved out too. I give it 2 stars as it might work fine for you. They work in 2 out of a total of 5 lights/lamps we tried them on. But should work in all 5 period. And so two stars for two out of 5 lamps therefore 2 out of 5 stars. I think it's fair enough way to tag these.Good bulbsI would rate these higher but we have the fixture on a wall switch and noticed if the bulb has been off for a while and then we turn the switch on there is a slight delay (around 1 second or less) between the time the light is turned on and when it actually lights up. If you turn it off and on again quickly there is no delay but after it's been off for a while it does have that slight delay. Otherwise a great three way bulb and a great value. Delivered ahead of schedule too!We recently switched over to LED bulbs on the advice of an electrician friend, he said they would be kinder to our very old wiring. In looking for 3-Way bulbs, I came across GoodBulb and am so happy I did! The light (3,000 kelvin) is almost identical to a regular soft white bulb. They have almost no hesitation when turning on the light, shipping was lightening fast, price was great and I feel really good contributing to a company with a conscience and a desire to help others. I won’t order from anyone else ever. Give them a try, you’ll be very happy you did!?Our old bulbs were kind of yellow. These are bright white. Easily brightened up the areas in my home that have can lights like the hallway and stairs.I’m in the process of swapping out all of my lightbulbs to LED in order to have a more energy efficient home. Immediately swapped out my 2 nightstand lights and very pleased with these bulbs, especially the color. These are exactly what I was looking for at a great price; I recommend with 2 thumbs up.bulbs have a nice soft 3-way light. some reviews mention the slight delay when turning on but i think that is common with LED bulbs? i've only been using the bulbs for a few months and so far so good. i am happy with this purchase. i gave an extra star in my rating because according to the description, the goodbulb company pays it forward. have a great day!
