The finished product is very beautiful, but we strongly recommend professional help with the installation (or a TON of patience and some band-aids). Contrary to the other reviewer's experience, all the necessary pieces were included in our shipment, including some extra crystals. A summary of our DIY experience is below. Pictures of it installed over our dining table are included. This took my handy husband about 5 hours to assemble and install (and I helped during the last hour). The directions, as the other reviewer mentioned, are garbage. We didn't think that the pieces that were provided to attach the fixture to the ceiling would provide adequate support; this thing weighs about as much as a small human when fully assembled and it needs to be supported by studs. But ultimately, we were able to work around that ourselves. The metal edges of the plate that attaches at the ceiling were incredibly sharp and he cut himself multiple times (it was tricky to always wear work gloves when working alone since that then made it was difficult to screw the nuts onto the bolts). Additionally, leveling the thing (which is important since its shape makes it obvious if it's not) was a nightmare. In the end, leveling it required some MacGyver-esque tweaking to get it (almost) right in three dimensions. The crystal pieces are attached one by one, by hand, with gloves to avoid fingerprints; we were provided with extra rectangular crystals (but no extra crystal spheres, and no extra crystal chain segments). One of the small chain segment crystals did break, shortening the length of that one piece about an inch, but it's not too noticeable (and I may still figure out a way to extend it to the right length). Our best advice is to be 100% sure that the electrical, ceiling mounting, and fixture leveling are all PERFECT prior to hanging any crystals since the added weight makes it very challenging to make changes to any of these things after the fact. The final product is quite beautiful and striking, even when the light is off in the daylight. We're excited to try it in the evening, but are waiting on the right light bulbs to arrive (recommend ordering those when you purchase the fixture). It definitely looks more expensive than it is. Seeing as how we plan to be in this house a long time and the price we paid for it compared to similar pieces (under $200), we're happy with it, even though the directions and installation design left much to be desired.
